What makes time stand still for you?
Staring at the clouds?
Walking through a forest?
Reading a great book?
Holding hands with someone you love?

Writing.
It begins with the notion of carving out time to think.
Next, the act of putting thoughts on ‘paper’ (or a screen).
And finally, deciding whether to hit publish or not.
That said, we must remember…
The first ministry is at home.
Helping yourself process life’s challenges puts you in a better position to help others. Writing does this for me.
Warning: Codependency is a real and dangerous enemy.
It’s an issue i’ve dealt with, and continue to deal with, literally all my life.
Because i refuse to become co-dependent, i struggle with what appears to be a lack of concern. In reality, i’ve surrendered my inability to influence positive change.
i found this article helpful in explaining and understanding codependency basics. The article also helps you do a decent inventory of you and the person(s) in question.

Our neighbor’s tree is now home to a Red Tail Hawk family.
Yesterday morning in the mundane routine of walking the trash can to the curb, i noticed a hawk in the middle of the tree.
This seemed unusual because i normally spot them on the upper and outer branches.
Closer inspection revealed a big nest.
This tree shades our mailbox and our driveway entrance.
i had never noticed the nest being built.
Maybe i was out of balance.

May i (may we all) find the balance between pushing myself versus pushing others.
When you push yourself, you are perceived by many to be ambitious and determined. You might also be perceived as inspiring (or a workaholic).
When you push others, you are being perceived by many to be condescending and judgemental. You might also be perceived as egotistical (or a meddler).
Find the balance.
i’ve spent a lifetime (including yesterday and today) identifying my blindspots, inconsistencies, and flaws.
There was a time when it was painful. Now i thrive on it.
Not everyone is in this place. Not everyone has a desire to ever go there.
Find the balance.
Surrender to the Universe and follow your heart, striving always to stay humble and kind.
Being perfectly imperfect, i continue to work hard to be an example and not a warning.
