What possesses you to write every day?

Every dang day i write five differently-themed blog posts.

The unanswered question is, “Why?”

Why start?

Why continue?

Every single day since April Fools Day 2009.

Seven-plus years.

Thirteen thousand plus blog posts.

No end in sight.

Impossible is nothing.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Adding photos doubles the blogging time

Photos tell stories…remember the photo from here?

Adding photos doubles my blogging time. For many weeks, i haven’t added photos to the five daily posts. This expedites the morning writing process and allows for more time on other pressing business issues.

Today is the first day using photos, since experimenting with photo-less posts.

Even more convinced than before of the time investment photos require.

But it doesn’t answer my question whether this should be a permanent decision.

Who’s not freakishly grateful?

Priest description
We received this at Mass yesterday, the day we met Father Geil.

The new Priest, Father Geil, has much to be thankful for.

How do i know?

What Priest isn’t insanely grateful?

What human isn’t intensely grateful?

i’m freakishly grateful to have not only reached the 100-day goal, but also for choosing to continue on the 101st day.

No one builds a reputation on their intentions

Homemade stir fry
Yesterday morning i didn’t tell Cheryl i was making stir fry for dinner. Instead, i texted a photo at dinner time.

A person who is well has no need for a physician. Was reminded shortly after waking this morning that Jesus came to help the poor in spirit.

In a hard-to-explain way, i write to do the same thing.

Our son (15) began blogging again last night after a two-year hiatus. But first he deleted every post he wrote since 2008. i told him not to announce that “I’m blogging again, blah, blah, blah”.

Rather, i suggested that he write, and at some point in the future announce it.

Don’t tell us what you’re gonna do. Tell us what you’ve done.

No one builds a reputation on what they’re gonna do.

Can we be in two places at the same time?

Christmas Eve on September 15.

What does this mean?

i’m sitting in a Best Western Valparaiso hotel room, writing the five daily, differently-themed blog posts like i have every day for the past 2,358 days.

Somehow over the past 6.5 years i’ve written a 100-day surplus of posts on all five websites.

This one, being written on September 15, will post on Christmas eve.

Whatever you celebrate, may you find peace, joy, love, and hope in it.

Abundantly.

Beyond measure.
