This pales, but at first it seemed massively inconvenient

Lethbridge viaduct
Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada will be without clean water for at least a week

What at first seemed extraordinarily inconvenient and unsafe has quickly been rethought.

A boil water advisory for the next several days.

This so pales in comparison to the Malaysian Jet with 239 passengers that is still missing after six days.

Or a High School classmate’s Son (28) lost to a drunk driver.

Pales.

Life is hard, and we are busy and distracted

Post It note display at Office Max
A metaphor for the overwhelming number of options for each individual choice.

This reminds me of the corporate world, and when organizations restructure to make things better. Always intrigued by the thought and effort spent on restructuring leadership karma. From the Bible:

No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it upon an old garment; if he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. 37) And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. 38) But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 39) And no one after drinking old wine desires new; for he says, ‘The old is good.’

Life is hard.

We know this.

Up to each of us to deal with it effectively.

Perspective is the yeast that makes our attitude positive or not positive

Small owl trinkets lined up on display
Who decided owls are wise and why has this notion been perpetuated for so long?

Perspective is the yeast that makes our attitude positive or not positive. Make sure we use the right amount.

Whether we believe there is a creator of all things or not, is a personal choice.

All of our personal choices evolve from perspective.

We know this.

But do we empower the opportunities to change our life from surviving to thriving?

Why or why not?

The pressure to do things well tempts us to not

Apple iPhone 5S colors window display
No bright colors, but amazingly colorful in such a subtle way

The pressure to do things well tempts us to not. At a certain point a startup (or anyone) has to make decisions that what they have is good enough to ship.

Because shipping eventually becomes more important than perfection.

With yesterday’s manuscript review in hand, Xulon Press made an offer for a copyediting service (for an additional fee).

The choice is have a book in hand (for sale to the world) by Thanksgiving but with potential errors. Or have a flawless book that might not be for sale until the end of the year.

Praying for wisdom and courage.
