Why taking a break can look like loss of interest

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but do judge a book.

Back to Church this morning after a long absence at Sunday morning Mass. Have remained involved every week with Youth Ministry Sunday nights and PREP classes Tuesday nights.

But Sunday mornings have taken a hit since Summer. Travel, major life event (retirement) preparation, new business launch, vacation, etc.

Lector number one at 8:45am Mass. Hoping God’s words coming from a 55-year old sinner are better than ever.

After 55 years, why?

Small town Catholic Church

Grandparents lived directly across the street from this Catholic Church. The High School is only two blocks away.

To this day, 55 years total, have never stepped foot inside this Church.

And I replied, “Yeah, just because you build it doesn’t mean people will come”.

Praying for every entrepreneurial spirit to stay motivated and focused today because the real world (and competition) will be like a pack of hungry wolves, aiming to pull you down.

How and where to volunteer is a big question in 2014

Catholic bulletin announcement for readers
After a lifetime of 8:45am Mass, we may be moving

Shortly after becoming a professional speaker in 1999 there was a campaign for parishioners to volunteer their time, talent, and/or treasure.

We were already giving ‘treasure’, so becoming a Catholic Lector seemed reasonable.

What does this mean to anyone else?

Who needs our time, talent, and treasure more?

Our Church or our Family?

Perhaps the volunteering and donating could be for a family member instead of the Church?

Both?

Life is hard.
