Jesus thought some were undeserving

LGBT church
Is Jesus the center of Christianity?

LGBT church
Would this headline make Jesus smile?

Jesus thought some were undeserving.

Right?

It’s in the Bible’s fine print.

Jesus said, “Everyone is welcome here, except them.”

“Those LGBT folks, don’t let them in. Ever.”, Jesus continued.

Ok, so now this article (and where the photos came from) adds context to the five previous sentences.

It seems, to me, to be so painfully obvious – am i grossly out of touch with a foundational understanding of Christianity and Jesus?

How does anyone professing Faith in Jesus allow this to happen?

It doesn’t feel like Sunday

Disney Customer Service Keynote Speakers
Fresh off the eight-day Disney Cruise yesterday at 9am. Note the year? It was 2017 when i wrote this post.

It doesn’t feel like Sunday.

Christmas Eve.

Today.

Sunday.

We have one full day at home in the middle of a 16-day stretch away from home.

If we go to Mass today, it will not be our normal 8:45am.

The right mixture of guilt and hope?

Catholic Missal

Yesterday’s Mass, and Gospel reading, led to an epiphany.

My teaching style is a mixture of guilt and hope.

The Gospel reading and the Homily from Father John – it was a perfect mashup of ideas and revelations.

Father John, intentionally or as a blind spot, uses consistent references of His congregation’s (and humanity in general) lack of proper behaviors.

It reminded me to contemplate my writing and speaking.

i don’t like the style of Father John’s digs – they seem (to me) to lack a loving embrace.

And yet, there are many times when he gives me such hope.

Will Life Bridge be life altering?

Life Bridge Church Orlando
On the way home from 8:45am Mass yesterday. Have had a visit on my radar for about a year.

Life Bridge Church Orlando
This Church is two miles from our subdivision…

The unexpected welcome received was stunning.

Will Life Bridge Church be life altering?

On the way home from Mass yesterday, i stopped at the Church to have a look. It was my second visit but the first time going inside.

Super important to add this context: i LOVE our Catholic Parish and the sense of community.

Not a fan of the commute though.

Have been focused on slowly and steadily simplifying life by switching doctors, insurance agent, school, shopping, hospital, bank, gas station, and coffee house in an effort to stay close to home.
