What happens when you leave?

Disney Institute website screen shot
Last night while surfing Disney Institute’s website. It’s easy to leave the Church too.

Cheryl went to work yesterday (Sunday) morning because her workload is intense right now. (She also worked all day Saturday too.) Our Son and i went to Mass in the morning. Later in the day i asked him to shape his opinion of Christians based on the ones who seem less hypocritical.

Dear Son, anywhere you want

Holy Family Church Orlando
For years we sat front row, left.

Yesterday morning i asked the 15- year old, “Where do you want to sit? We can sit anywhere.” Because we arrived 20 minutes early, our choices were endless.

He picked the very last row.

Original iPhone announcement
The video is from 2007, but it felt like Steve gave the speech live.

Church, school, and Disney within walking distance?

Tattoo and Disneyland handbag
Yesterday while on a High School tour.

Thinking about a new Church.

Why even think about leaving Holy Family Catholic Church?

It’s 20 minutes each way. Been doing that once or twice a week for 16 years.

What if our Church (choice between Baptist or non-denominational) was next to our subdivision, or between home and High School?

Those are two options i want to explore.

The image of hardly attending Church this Summer.

Two trains of thought:

i’m a bad person because i’m not fulfilling a sacred obligation to demonstrate my faith.

i’m smart to take a Summer sabbatical after 15 years, to help me appreciate what i’m missing and what i had.

Midlife perspective can be transformational.

But only if we enjoy enough solitude to be able to notice.
