End of Life planning is cool

End of Life planning is cool.

What?

Seriously, Covid-19 had me dust off my Last Will and Testament, which led to the revision of other legal documents, as well as add two more legal directives.

We plan for birth, we plan for a career, and if we are truly blessed with courage, vision, and peace, we plan for our earthly departure.

We are born to live and die

The goal of every living thing is to reproduce. Period.

Mission accomplished.

We are born to reproduce.

After we reproduce (become parents), decline begins.

Two thoughts:

  1. There’s an exception to every rule (even this rule)
  2. Joy is a natural part of the pre-parenting stage (parenting is hard work)

Wisdom: Use your human ability to exploit, scale, enjoy, and teach the second thought – making joy last well past the pre-adult responsibility stage.

The second coming

Beargrass from Granite Park Chalet
Heaven is a concept for humans to attempt to wrap our heads around what happens after we die.

The second coming is when?

Wait, what is the second coming?

Here is how i process these two questions:

  1. The second coming occurs when i die.
  2. The second coming is when i have the option to fear, or be peaceful with, my death.

Wishing you your own wonderfully glorious story that equips you (sooner rather than later) to pick from fear or peace at the time of your death.

Be exceptionally comfortable with death

Hours after a 12-foot closeup Grizzly Bear encounter. Could have died. This is exactly where I was when it happened – a few steps away from Granite Park Chalet’s water station.

Being exceptionally comfortable with death is a gift you give yourself.

Your comfort with death is also a gift you give to your family and friends.

Peace and contentment is the new wealth.

Top 5 regrets of dying

Social media, yesterday, provided this image. i am thankful for today.

Top 5 regrets of dying.

Regret flourishes when we insidiously believe we have plenty of time to do things later.

Regret becomes real when we unexpectedly run out of time for later.
