The fellowship of sinners changes everything we see

Church epiphany
Yesterday, January 7, 2018.

Think Christians are hypocritical?

No doubt, for sure, we are.

Think Christians should get a clue?

Absolutely. Totally agree.

So.

So, are you staying away from a “Church community” because of realities like the two above?

What if.

What if you went into it (Church Community commitment) thinking that organized religion is nothing more than…drum roll…..

The fellowship of sinners.

Seeing Christians as the hypocritical sinners they (we) are changes everything we see.

.think .differently about “Religion”

.think .differently about “Religion”.

What do you need spiritually, emotionally, intangibly?

What gives you what you need?

Nature?

Mobile apps?

Community?

Family?

Work?

Medication?

Nature?

Books?

Volunteering?

What?

And what of those will reap a bountiful harvest in your later years?

Many Americans are killing themselves with poor personal responsibility habits

Bertrand Russell quote
Life is full of things we don’t understand. Some of them have answers, but we must decide for ourselves.

The tragic events in Las Vegas yesterday have many people jumping on a (predictable) bandwagon for how America needs to change.

Two thoughts:

  1. Beat your drums all day, every day instead of waiting for tragedy.
  2. Clean up your own yard first before proclaiming your neighbor’s yard is a mess.

Many Americans are killing themselves with poor personal responsibility habits.

Here’s how to test if you’re judgemental or not

inconsiderate car parking
Do unto others? Do not judge.

Do unto others?

Do not judge.

As we were leaving last night’s College Admissions presentation at the High School, we spotted this.

First thought is, “What a jerk the car on the left is.”

Right?

That would be judging. No?

So don’t fall prey to weakness.

Here’s how to test if you’re judgemental or not.

Ask, “What if the car on the right parked after the left car parked and made a conscious choice to exit out the passenger side?”

As one of the first arrivals to the 7pm meeting, we saw a few parents and students arrive after the session started.

The pressures and choices of daily living can be stressful and influence our decisions.

Hate, shame, judgment, ridicule, exclusion, stereotyping

Glacier National Park creek bed
Random pic from 2016…a creek bed.

Hate, shame, judgment, ridicule, exclusion, stereotyping.

When i think of these, i ask myself, “Do i carry any of them, even in small quantities, with me in daily life?”

If any of these describe, even remotely, my thoughts on any given day, there’s a good chance i’m not embracing Love as it is meant to be.

Love has no conditions.

That’s an almost impossible concept to comprehend.
