Interesting time in life, spirit

11-second video: Two Sand Hill Cranes walking on our driveway today.
6-second video: Rare, and special, to see them bathing.

Interesting time in life.

When are you gonna die?

Trying to get it down to this: No idea, but if it’s tomorrow, i’m all set.

Interesting time in life, indeed.

Busy squared

Took this photo yesterday and texted it to Cheryl. Requested two more bags. Didn’t know i’d be using the word devil and 6-6-6.

The devil doesn’t make us bad. The devil makes us busy.

We fight over ownership

Red pouch label Going The Extra Inch tool kit
The Keynote is a month away. Had a client call with the conference decision makers and organizers. They had seen the TED talk, “Why going the extra mile is a flawed concept, and what to do instead.“

What if we over-focused on fighting for what we agree on?

i didn’t invent exceeding expectations.

Yet as far as i know, my claim to fame is making “Go The Extra Inch” a household name.

At this point in my career it doesn’t matter where the phrase came from.

That is peace.

That is contentment.

To each their own, spirit

Three Finnish ski jumps adjacent to each other
Finland, 2009. We ain’t in Kansas anymore.

Feel what you want to feel. Worship or don’t worship.

To each their own. Right?

Don’t worry about what others think about your spiritual habits.

They don’t worry about your hope, your faith, or your love.

Why would they?

What a revelation.

Who knew?

Now i do.

One of my late-in-life revelations.

It’s easy to wonder what my life would have been like in my 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s had i not worried about what others thought of my habits.

But these days, gratefully, i surrender to the past. Grateful for moving on and never looking back, in the last decade or so.

Let people serve the way they want to serve.

Serve as much or as little as suits you.

Pray as much or as little as suits you.

Hope as much or as little as suits you.

Love as much or as little as suits you.

Enjoy as much or as little peace and contentment as suits you.
