He’s new. And untested. Everyone is putting up a front. Some are authentic and some are not. The challenge is they look similar.
Last night at our High School. Teen athletes are well versed in hard work. This karma gets tested when teens start paying rent and everything else.
The hard work of taking care of the temple.
Your temple.
What?
The temple housing everything keeping you alive.
Your body.
Not taking excellent care of it delivers the same result as if you intentionally said, “I don’t care about my health and I’ll be damned if I’m going to do anything about it.”
Happy Thanksgiving.
Seems ridiculous, i know.
It is.

Yesterday morning, like i always do, made a small change before handing it to our Son to put in the collection basket.
Be passionate, tell stories, use personal examples.
Our lead Pastor, Father John, has been with us for about two years. We are still getting to know him. Father Ennis retired after 50 years in the Priesthood. Father John has big shoes to fill.
Told Father John yesterday as we left Church, “Really enjoyed your story about Buddy (his dog).”
He used his personal story to add a real-life illustration for the powerful bond people and pets enjoy and thrive on.
The sermon was about the difference between a loving shepherd and a non-committed shepherd.
He also mentioned being an athlete at one time. We’ve never heard any sports analogies.
It hit me – seeing that side of him might help us see him as more real.
Who doesn’t like more real?
No promises…maybe some more real stories from my past.

After exploring the third floor, i stopped on the next floor down – the convention center floor. This was a delightful surprise.
As i continued to explore, stumbled upon this around the corner.
Traveling retail shop.
Everyone?
Stumbled upon this yesterday.
Wrote it in 2011…
A woman on the plane today spoke of not knowing what she wants to do with her life. So I suggested she start with a blank page, “God put me here to…”, and don’t stop writing until what you read makes you cry.
It is still my number one piece of advice when people are desperate to find their purpose in life.
If you’re not desperate, you won’t be motivated enough.
It worked for me in 2008.
