Sitting directly across from the dining hall dessert table, it was tempting to find a good reason to break from the no-sugar commitment.
Two tables offered up a dozen enticing dessert selections (plus there’s a self-service hand-scooped ice cream station nearby).
Freshman 15 (or 20) is a real thing, that’s how it became a phrase.
Be careful with habits, rituals, self-control, and personal vibrancy goals.
Inhale excellence, not desserts.
PS. No desserts were harmed last night…only inhaled the goodness.

The drive to do good is consistently attacked by the pressure and stress of a busy schedule.
It is infinitely easier to succumb to this daily pressure using the three main human go-to responses to reduce or eliminate the friction (pain).
Distraction, entertainment, and medication.
This becomes a habit quickly.
Be careful.
Better to fight it while the fire is small than after it has become a raging wildfire.

Some days it doesn’t happen in the morning; writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts every day.
Everyday for 7.3 years.
Normally, all five are written before sunrise.
On those days when the pressure of a busy schedule is higher and the duration is long, i’m tempted to finally make an exception to the not missing a single day part.
But i don’t succumb.
