Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the car accident last night

Rear end collision minimal damage
Chris and his wife were ok, as was their jeep.

Rear end collision front end damage
Our bumper was too low and wasn’t even scratched, so the hood and radiator absorbed the impact.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the car accident last night. It could have been:

  • Much more damaging to the other vehicle
  • Much more damaging to our vehicle
  • We could have gone from four people with zero injuries to all of us having multiple
  • It could have happened far from home
  • It could have happened at night
  • It could have happened along a dangerous stretch of highway
  • It could have been raining, or snowing (far away from home), or thunderstorms
  • It could have been a brand new driver, at 16, feeling tremendous guilt
  • It could have involved more than two cars
  • It could have taken longer for the tow truck
  • It could have been a nightmare

Thank you for keeping it minor.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Holding on and letting go

family photo
One is missing, but only because he was taking the photo.

Email from college buddy yesterday. One of our Fraternity’s (Pennsylvania Tau chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon) founding fathers (of which 36 of us form a special bond) left our earthly world for the next stage in his life.

Jim Powell was a good, decent, and gentle man.

He was 58.

Cancer forever changed the destiny of his life.

None of us ever expect to have to fight cancer.

If cancer does knock on our door, how will we move forward?

Do we really believe this deep down?

Disneyland lockers
Is our mind locked on a certain belief?

Do we believe that going to Church once a week for an hour is good enough?

The road to heck is paved with good intentions.

Is it worth a 40-year wait?

Epcot icons
So many on-stage icons, but what about backstage?

If ever there was a temple at Disney, certainly Disney University (DU) would be a contender.

Met over lunch hour (neither one of us ate though) at DU.

He wanted to know when i discovered that life isn’t about the money.

Long story, short – it was a process that took about 41 years.

Where would any of us be if we didn’t start something?

Best Disney Speakers
At the foot of the Disneyland Hotel bed, the two most important people in my life are still sleeping. Photo: headboard (top), nightstand clock (center).

What if, back on April Fools Day 2009, i had not started every morning on my knees?

Where would i be today?
