Disney taught me

meeting coo inside Disney University
“Thanks for dropping in!” Started working here in 1982. The Center Building. Now (and for a long time) called Disney University.

Disney taught me to exceed expectations by paying attention to details.

The essence is to pay attention to details that 99.9% of any audience will never notice.

Why invest time, effort, and or money on something “no one” notices?

Why? Because someone will notice and they will be blown away – the lucky recipient of the wow-factor.

The ripple effect from working in an organization that always does this is that you can transfer the practice into whatever role you play in your company.

The missing business offering

37-second video: i think its marketing not sales. Definite maybe.

The missing business offering?

A product menu.

Why?

For Organizations that want me but not my signature, world-class Disney Customer Service Keynote speech.

Named after a plane

text thread
Veterans Day text. Two days ago. Mitch is a High School classmate. His son, along with five others, was ambushed July 8, 2012. Cameron gave all that day.

Mitch and i were not close in High School. Our interests never connected us. But 4-5 decades later, with social media, you can find some ‘connection’.

Words shape how we see the world.

Words shape how we see ourselves.

Some words are too common to escape.

Some words are poison.

Some words are the cure.

Some words are ours to choose.

Some words are ours to trust and bank on.

Eye spy Magic

three small Mickey Mouse figurines on a table
Inside the ‘YAG procedure” room.
three small Mickey Mouse figurines on a table
Brought a pocket full of Pixie Dust. Started with five Mickey Mouse figurines. Gave one to Dr Callaway. Gave another to Janis. Janis conducted a thorough pre-procedure evaluation. Dr Callaway confirmed and validated Janis’s findings. Then Dr Shumski performed the YAG laser procedure. It was over in about one minute.

While waiting at the check out desk to pay any health insurance deductible, Magic happened.

Had just walked 40 feet from the procedure room to the lobby.

There was a short lull at the desk so i removed my glasses.

Covered the right eye.

Almost started to cry.

With what i saw.
