In my (humble, hopefully) opinion, aging is an emotional blessing.

Hard stop.

(and the context is you’re living with a growth mindset)

The longer you live, the more you see what matters and what doesn’t.

When i was younger and trying to climb the work ladder, i was deeply, even obsessively, worried about what others thought of me.

Now?

Not a chance!

In hell. Not a snowball’s chance in hell!

Time (aka aging) is a remarkable teacher, coach, mentor, friend.

Aging is cool.

Happy present moment.

Facebook can be brutal on traditional American holidays if you’re not careful.

Lots of comparison going on – mostly subconsciously.

It’s the main reason i turned off notifications five months ago.

In order for me to know what’s going on in someone’s life, i need to type in their name on Facebook, call them, text them, or email them.

i’m good with this.

Artist Rachel Sussman is obsessed with very old things that are still alive. Things like the Pafuri baobab, a South African tree that is likely at least 2,000 years old — and requires an armed guard escort to visit. Or the stromatolites of Western Australia, organisms connected to the oxygenation of the planet that began some 3.5 billion years ago. She has spent years tracking down the world’s oldest organisms. Such an insignificant life in the big scheme of things

releasing household bug — At 6am yesterday, a small silverfish (bug) was in our master bathroom sink. The old me would have grabbed a tissue and quickly killed it. The new me caught it and released it outside. The blue paper is a post-it note.

Maybe it was too much concern.

i may never know for sure.

All i know is i felt better about myself for what i did.

PS. Thanks to our son (17) for inspiring me to .think .differently about bugs.
