As i sit and write, who’s busier?

Disney Speaker
From here, only a 7.5-mile walk to the “hotel”.

As i sit and write, who’s busier?

The small rugged room is filling with people who are chatting with other hikers, yet they themselves are hurrying along – they spend less than 24 hours in this most beautiful setting.

Why?

Because they are busy getting on to the next stop.

All of them.

One night and then dust in the wind.

Then there’s the guy with his laptop, intentionally distancing himself the others, shunning the small talk.

Why?

He has work to do.

We can bet a few may feel sorry for the person who can’t get away from his laptop. (i’d be tempted to think that if the roles were reversed)

And i smile and remind myself (to shed any temptation for personal guilt) i’m at work.

The purpose here in Glacier National Park isn’t to escape, it’s to work.

How glorious is that?

The conversing i get to do happens later in the day when today’s work is done.

It ain’t the Magic

Disney Keynote Speaker
My knees and shoulders were getting tired enough to make me have to physically take a break and stretch.

The photos with Disney character figurines are cool.

The photos look like the process was quick and easy.

Anything but.

If anyone told you how many hours i spent thinking, planning, deciding, arranging, traveling, organizing, and photographing, you’d be like, “No way.”

Same with the daily number of hours spent writing.

Town Square is such a huge wow

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
The extra inch is something i operationalized at Disney Institute. Operationalize means you make something a habit.

Once our Guests enter through either tunnel beneath the Walt Disney World Railroad train station, they find themselves in Town Square.

The sounds, the smells, the landscaping, the architecture, the friendly and happy Cast, all of it – a complete immersion stimulating all our senses.

By design.

We pay as much attention to what you see, hear, feel, smell, and taste as we for what you don’t see, hear, or smell.

Town Square is such a huge wow.

But, there is something missing.

You finally realize you don’t see what you expected to see – not realizing it is missing until you’ve adjusted to the wonderful space called Town Square.

Outward Bound mantra

Disney Institute Speaker
Closeups are fun.

To serve, to strive, and not to yield. – Outward Bound mantra

Serve.

That’s why we are here.

Strive.

To continuously improve.

Not to yield.

Slay excuses, obstacles, and impossible.

The wilderness is calling.

And i must go.

The books are calling.

And i must write.

The beauty of creative angles and combos

Disney Keynote Speaker
The beauty of a creative, and insignificant, photo shoot is the risk-taking with angles and combinations.

The beauty of a creative, and significant, book writing retreat is the risk-taking with angles and combinations.

Everything you’d expect in a Disney business book will likely be missing.

Everything you wouldn’t expect in a Disney business book will likely be added.
