Catechist’s Prayer

Catechist’s Prayer:

“Gracious and all loving Father, out of love for all people you spoke your Word who became flesh for our salvation. May your Word transform me so that the message of your Son, our Lord, may be echoed through my teaching. Allow me to guide the hearts of those whom I teach in such a way that they will enter more deeply into your way of truth and salvation. Grant me the insight needed to lead them to know, love, and serve you. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may they become hearers and followers of your Word, so that they may help transform the world to follow the way of life your Son has called us all, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.”

Got Christmas?

Got Christmas? It’s not for another 2 1/2 months. Who’s got time to focus on Christmas, right?

What if we did have time to focus on Christmas? I mean, not just in December, but more often. Way more often.

“We come to know the true meaning of Christmas when we learn to celebrate it every day”. — unknown

PS. Merry Christmas. 🙂

Is This Your Year?

Is this your year to do something great?

Hope so.

It sure has been a great year of blogging. The blogging has been inspired by the realization that the clock is ticking.

If this hasn’t been “your year”, why not? What needs to change? What is the missing link?

If we knew this, maybe we’d be acting on it already. Not necessarily. For example, I know what I need to do. But doing it is the hard part.

New Year’s resolutions. They hardly ever work. So start making plans to do it differently. Start now. Today. Seriously.

Faith, Hope and Love

Faith, Hope and Love.

Doesn’t get much simpler than that.

And yet there are so many temptations that take us away from simple.

Simple doesn’t mean easy. Take diet and exercise. Two simple concepts to lower cholesterol and maintain a healthy body weight.

Yet, if it were easy, very few of us would have to worry about cholesterol and weight. Ya with me?

So, what does this have to do with Faith, Hope and Love?

Everything! Carpe diem.

The Joy of Living

The Joy of Living is one of the most elusive of all endowments.

Why? Just watch a child and you’ll find your answer. Having a child (9-year old boy) in our home is a daily reminder.

We all, at least I do, need daily reminders of this simple fact, don’t we? Why? Because life is hard, especially in today’s challenging and uncertain world.

Every day is an opportunity to count our blessings. Anyone need a calculator?
