He told his friend he thought about the previous night’s conversation and wanted to say his goodbyes now, at dinner.

His friend had said how he has suffered enough in his life and that death would be a welcomed relief. He wasn’t contemplating suicide, but simply stating that if he died, his pain would be gone.

Fear is a bloody liar. So the conversation last night included a goodbye, just to bring peace to the joyful person.

Pretty sure it caught the tired person off guard.

Authenticity is strength. And peace.

No secrets.

But still use our best judgement.

Always has been.

Always will be.

Meanwhile in busy places, buildings (labeled Churches) have been constructed to allow humans to put the distractions of a busy world at bay.

Life is hard (and busy) for everyone

 

There can be no peace until we are able to let it all go.

Without trying, a women on her cell phone walking though JFK yesterday said, “You’re pissing me off when you do that”.

Could only do two things in that moment:

  1. Pray for her and the other person.
  2. Realize that there are no acceptable exceptions to not demonstrating peace in our life.

This is incredibly lofty.

Lofty is not a bad thing.

Doesn’t have to be elusive either.

On a scale of one to ten (ten is high), how great is our peace on a daily basis?

In a way, our answer should be ten.

And it should be ten without hesitation, without exception. All day. Everyday.

That is the path that is of our choosing.

Forgiveness, compassion, gratitude, generosity, humility, faith, joy.
