Post-it note to self

Prolific bloggers
This website & blog is about the one in the middle, spirit.

It happens way less than it used to, but every once in a while i have to pause and take stock of the progress that’s accumulated over the past seven-plus years.

Today is one of those rare days.

If you ask me right now how many blog posts i have written, i’ll say, “Not sure.”

So, to answer that…

7 years x 365 days = 2,555 days

2 leap years add 2 days = 2,557 days

April – June 2016 add 91 days = 2,648 days

July 1 – July 8, 2016 (today) add 8 days = 2,656 days

2,656 days x 5 blogs per day = 13, 280 blog posts

Bonus: Include the 90-day surplus of posts waiting to be published, add 450 posts…

13,280 + 450 = 13,730 posts written since April Fools Day 2009.

Prior to April 1, 2009, i had never written more than two consecutive days and had never written five posts in a single day.

That was a long winded way to ask you this:

What are you capable of doing that seems impossible?

But if you only worried about one day at a time, you could do something extraordinary?

Final thought, the other thing i began on April 1, 2009 was to begin each morning on bended knees and say three simple prayers…2,656 days in a row.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

What possesses you to write every day?

Every dang day i write five differently-themed blog posts.

The unanswered question is, “Why?”

Why start?

Why continue?

Every single day since April Fools Day 2009.

Seven-plus years.

Thirteen thousand plus blog posts.

No end in sight.

Impossible is nothing.

Grateful for the God-given gift of determination

Disney University interior hall
Yesterday at lunch, fairly random photo at Disney University. i take solace knowing Walt Disney was a determined fella. So was Jesus.

Told our Son (15) the other day when we were talking about talent, i reminded him that i don’t believe i have talent, i believe that i have determination. Determination to do what i say i’m gonna do. In the end, talent cannot trump determination; not in the long run.

i go through cycles where i can’t comprehend what’s happening and other times i just write without thinking too much about the frequency and duration.

But when i do hone in on the reality of the frequency and duration, it absolutely boggles my mind.

Five daily, differently-themed blogs – was determined to do it 100 consecutive days beginning April Fools Day 2009.

Somehow the determination to see how many days in a row, without missing a single day, has morphed into nearly seven years worth.

Is jeff noel An Egotistical Jerkasaurus?

Nothing greater or more important than being a great parent (or relative if we have no kids)

Some Mid Life Celebration blog readers get it (and stay) and some don’t (and leave). It was the same for Jesus too. But no matter. Boomers, if we let what other people think stop us from doing what’s on our faithful heart, no great and important things would ever get done.

The Curse Of Consistency Is That Boomers Can Become Numb To The Omnipotence

Only A Dummy Would Continue To Go Through Life Without Fixing This

Boomers, we are what we repeatedly do. The challenge with developing omnipotent habits is to never loose the original intent. We learn by doing things over and over until we can do the habit in our sleep. Some of our habits were never meant to become habits.

While repetition is the mother of all learning, repetition is also a leading cause of our blind spots. PS. This is post 4,998, to read post 4,999 please click Next Blog
