Lean into discomfort daily (and all day).

Coming off a spectacular day of firsts and calculated risks at Universal Studios two days ago, i challenged myself to sit in a window seat.

Years ago, i gave up my go-to choice (window seat) in favor of an aisle seat.

Yesterday, i was intent on taking a trip down memory lane.

Being in the Southwest Airlines A-group, i was one of the first to board and had unlimited choices.

As we were about to take off, it hit me.

The pilot announced there were roughly 100 empty seats.

When the seat belt sign was turned off, i moved to the third row from the rear, aisle seat.

Time (again) to look for flights to Kalispell

Grinnell Glacier Trail — We rounded the bend at the rock outcropping and almost walked into the Ram, who at the time was on the trail walking towards us. We quickly retreated before taking any photos. After this photo, we retreated even more.

Grinnell Glacier Hike — The Ranger-led hike caught up to us. We waited in stillness for 10 minutes before two hikers came from the opposite direction to give the “all-clear”.

Time (again) to look for flights to Kalispell.

May, June, July, August, and September.

Five trips.

This is the last Summer i’m planning to visit.

Why?

Because on paper, my 10-year goal to do everything in life i want to do before my 60th birthday has Summer 2018 as the final Summer available.

May we all be so privileged

John Zubek Allentown — John Zubek’s wife, my Mother-In-Law Margaret Zubek, began her journey last night at 6:30pm to reunite with “Johnny”. They were married for 60 years.

October 30, 2017.

November 5, 2017.

Six days separated their Earthy life.

May we all be so lucky.

God granted me and Cheryl the distinct privilege to be with Margaret as she took her final breath.

To me, death, especially from “old age”, is a gift.

To personally witness death’s intimacy is one of life’s great miracles.

Even in birth there can be complications and struggles.

Same with death.

Birth is supposed to be joyous.

Why would death be any different?

Live (and die) like you mean it.
