Do you ever ask yourself why you’re living like this?

Last night this photo was sent to me. On the right i circled the JJ and asked if it stands for “Jungle Jeff”.

When you think about how difficult challenging it is to keep up with everything in your life, do you ever pause and ask yourself, “Why am i living like this?”

And if you have asked yourself this on multiple occasions, what have you concluded?

The conditions are nothing i could have planned for

The conditions are nothing i could have planned for.

Not the cooler and wetter weather – that’s easy to plan for.

The Howe Ridge fire.

Going-To-The-Sun-Road is closed from Apgar to Logan Pass.

What would have been an hour drive up from Apgar is now a 2.5 to 3-hour drive around the East side and up.

There are also potential closures of Many Glacier Hotel and Granite Park Chalet.

For now, i’ve moved the Apgar accommodations to the East side.

Time will tell.

Changing your scenery can change things

Disney Keynote Speakers
Truth.

This post will sound like the antithesis of changing the scenery, but here’s how i counter that thinking – every morning, the first two hours are spent on a journey to thoughts i’ve never seen, or thoughts i haven’t seen in years.

Find creative ways to do the impossible – travel every day to someplace exciting.

Every morning after waking, i kiss my wife and son on the forehead as they sleep and then get down at the foot of the bed and say the same three prayers.

Every.

Morning.

Sometimes when i get down on bended knee, thoughts of the day’s to-do list creep in.

i catch this and start over.

Sometimes, i say the prayers real fast – too fast.

While i retired from Disney, i didn’t retire from working (making a good and decent contribution to society).

i hit the ground running each morning with two hours of writing, reading, praying, thinking – and finish this time block by 7am.

We resist and fear change automatically

Homeowner meeting
Controversy and fear of change. Vacant land near our community has most people worried about change.

Sundays are a traditional “church-day” for many Americans.

Yet there’s decent media coverage that church attendance is declining.

Lots of “justifiable reasons” for only going to Church on Easter and Christmas Sundays.

We didn’t go yesterday.

Why?

“Justifiable reasons”.

Which leads me here…

We resist and fear change automatically.

The change that has engulfed our 70-acre neighborhood the past decade is best described as an urban-growth tsunami.

Similar to what New York City looked like before Christopher Columbus discovered America and what it looks like now.

In a 15-mile by two-mile north-to-south corridor along State Road 535, there was nothing here but wilderness.

It has all been aggressively developed.

No more open space.

But there is one spot that is sparsely populated.

We are in a rare 200-acre part of Orange County that has homes zoned from one home per two acres to one per 10-acres.

There’s pressure to change this.

This might change your life

HomePod ordering
At the gym, roughly 930am, Apple HomePods finally went on sale. Bought two of them while doing core work.

This might change your life.

What?

Using technology to become ever more organized.

Why?

To create more time for health and wellness.

In this case, spiritual health.

“But i don’t have time” is an excuse we need to slay.

Go.
