Sunset or Sunrise?

Sunset or sunrise?

I’ll take one of each, please!

Watched the sun set last night and watched the sun rise this morning.

Listening to Jimmy Buffett as I type this just before 8:00AM.

Big, impossible goal this week?

To become so relaxed, it leads to boredom.

Yes, one of my big, impossible goals is to be bored.

Sunday, Glorious Sunday

And on the seventh day, He rested.

I have a confession: “I have trouble slowing down. I believe I could have a work addiction”.

Rest.

It sure looks good on paper.

Ever feel that way?

My friend, Dennis, says things only become cliches if they’re true.

Ever heard the one, “Busy Beaver”?

The Beaver is always working on the dam. Always. There’s always work to be done.

I’ve never seen a nature film where you see a father Beaver just lounging around.

Have you?

Well, this week, I’m going to try to conduct my life differently. I’ll have to work very hard to not work very hard. Impossible? We’ll see.

Stay tuned and carpe diem, jeff “where’s my lounge chair” noel 🙂

July 4 – Blessed Beyond Measure

July 4 – Blessed beyond measure.

When you really stop and think about what this day stands for, what sacrifices have been made, and the delicate balance the future holds for it, you could almost drop to your knees and thank God there are people who put their lives on the line every single day to protect what is such a blessing.

We are indeed blessed beyond measure. Today is an official reminder of that.

Nearly 100

I’ve got to be nearing 100 days. I’m certain I’m nearly there.

On April 1st, I decided to start a habit that our Pastor had, for months, challenged our congregation to do.

At each Mass we attended, our Priest would ask all of us, “Who started the day on their knees”?

You could almost hear a pin drop.

Well, finally, on April 1st, I accepted his challenge.

And as I was on my knees this morning, I gave thanks that I’ve focused my efforts every morning since then, to do this every day before I do anything else.

John F. Kennedy said, “The time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining”.

I’m teaching our son to remember, “I believe the time to pray is when the sun is shining”.

Is It Spreading?

Is It Spreading?

Swine flu? No, that’s not what I’m referring to.

Yesterday at physical therapy, a gentleman I met last week – while we were both lying on our backs, receiving treatment – told me he thought I had written some good things.

We spoke last week about what led us to physical therapy, which opened the door to sharing my electronic business card for www.lane8.org

Anyway, he had visited Lane 8, as well as the other four blogs I write. He said he is referring his youth group to hear some of my messages.

WOW!

It is spreading. Slowly. Surely. One small step at a time.

Come to find out he was a Pastor in Puerto Rico and retired in 2000.

Also yesterday, I received a Google alert that someone had a posted a Twitter message about my Mid Life Celebration site – https://twitter.com/emotiv8/status/2404324647

Seems like the harder I work, the luckier I get.

I call it faith.
