Carpe diem

Carpe diem.

My signature closing on every jeff noel, Lane 8, Mid Life Celebration, and jungle jeff blog post.

Every time.

Why?

Because last year on our son’s first grade reading log, we had to sign off on his time read and pages read. Every time I signed off, I would put a little smiley face.

I stopped doing it after a while, because I thought maybe it was childish.

Our son asked my wife, while I was away on a business trip, “Why doesn’t Daddy use smiley faces anymore”?

He noticed it. He appreciated it. He missed it.

I fixed that quickly.

Child Earns Money on Internet Business

Child earns money on Internet Business.

I recently have been challenging our son to find a way(s) to earn money on the Internet.

You know, set up a lemonade stand out by the road.

Except, those days are simply a fond memory. In today’s world, why not the Internet? Why not as a child?

What’s holding me back from thinking this is possible?

Nothing.

Because I think it’s completely possible, guess who else thinks it’s completely possible?

Exactly!

Anything holding you back?

Faith, Hope and Love

Faith, Hope and Love.

Profoundly simple and simply profound.

I think about these three concepts constantly. Like my friend asked me last month, “Are you obsessed”? I would have to emphatically say, “Yes”!

Wishing you Peace in your Soul, Joy in your Spirit, and Love in your Heart. Today. All day. And always.

Happy Birthday, Son

Happy Birthday, Chapin.

Nine! Wow!

Last night at dinner in Indiana, my client asked me to describe our son, but only using one-word descriptors.

I wish the one-words would have rolled off my tongue. As I thought about it, words came to mind:

  • Honest
  • Techie
  • Compassionate
  • Brave
  • Smart
  • Athletic
  • Strong
  • Healthy
  • Spiritual
  • Helpful
  • Friendly
  • Nice
  • Courteous
  • Courageous
  • Funny
  • Understanding

Long ago, I asked our son a question, “If I lined up all the boys in the entire world, know which one would be my favorite”?

He thought for a a few moments, “Me”?

“Yes”!

Now when I ask him, I get to about the fourth word in the question and he exclaims in no uncertain terms, “Me”!

Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, I’m luvin’ it! Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂

Parenting Is Not An Entitlement

Parenting was not an entitlement, much to my surprise.

My wife and I tried for eight years, spent our life savings, and risked failure. All in order to become parents.

Tomorrow, our son turns nine.

Who would have ever thought, all those years ago, that we would finally have a nine year old?

I know who.

God.
