Nearly 100

I’ve got to be nearing 100 days. I’m certain I’m nearly there.

On April 1st, I decided to start a habit that our Pastor had, for months, challenged our congregation to do.

At each Mass we attended, our Priest would ask all of us, “Who started the day on their knees”?

You could almost hear a pin drop.

Well, finally, on April 1st, I accepted his challenge.

And as I was on my knees this morning, I gave thanks that I’ve focused my efforts every morning since then, to do this every day before I do anything else.

John F. Kennedy said, “The time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining”.

I’m teaching our son to remember, “I believe the time to pray is when the sun is shining”.

Is It Spreading?

Is It Spreading?

Swine flu? No, that’s not what I’m referring to.

Yesterday at physical therapy, a gentleman I met last week – while we were both lying on our backs, receiving treatment – told me he thought I had written some good things.

We spoke last week about what led us to physical therapy, which opened the door to sharing my electronic business card for www.lane8.org

Anyway, he had visited Lane 8, as well as the other four blogs I write. He said he is referring his youth group to hear some of my messages.

WOW!

It is spreading. Slowly. Surely. One small step at a time.

Come to find out he was a Pastor in Puerto Rico and retired in 2000.

Also yesterday, I received a Google alert that someone had a posted a Twitter message about my Mid Life Celebration site – https://twitter.com/emotiv8/status/2404324647

Seems like the harder I work, the luckier I get.

I call it faith.

The Internet Has Changed Us

The Internet Has Changed Us. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

What feels different to working people over 30, I think, is that as we grew up, the speed of change didn’t feel nearly as fast as it does now.

Everything seems to be faster and perhaps smarter. Everything except our common sense.

What’s common sense is rarely common practice. Ya with me?

Why? Darned if I know. I have my theories, but I won’t bore you with them now.

Do you know? Anyway, hurry up and carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂

The Bright Side of Life?

“No one ever went blind by looking at the bright side of life”. — unknown

This kind of thinking isn’t for everyone. I get that.

This blog isn’t for everyone either. And I’m sorry about that.

You know what else I get, and feel sorry about? Not exactly sure myself.

I will say, like I always do, “I’d rather try and fail than not try, and live with regret”.

I stumbled upon a blog, led there by my LinkedIn home page today, and the author had a quote at the end that was significant in validating my mindset this year.

“Done is better than perfect”!

There, today’s post at jeffnoel.org is done. Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂
